Q :What do you remember about the recording process, and the significance of its recording location, Dub Narcotic Studio?
Was the entire album, apart from the live songs, recorded in one session? How did the personnel for this recording session come together? Arrington De Dionyso, McCloud Zicmuse, Greg Saunier, Chris Cohen,.,.
A:We flew to the US for a show with Red Crayola in Los Angeles, and initially stayed at Rick Potts’ house. There I met up with Curtains and hit the road in their car. We headed north, writing down every melody that came to mind. I slept in the gap between the wall and the sofa, and got interrupted by a herd of cows along the way, but I finally arrived in Olympia and recorded all the melodies I’d written down, which became faux depart. There I found McCloud, a noble beggar who was sleeping in the studio and playing the bassoon on the street.
ロスでレッドクレイオラと対バンすることになって、最初リックポッツの家に泊めてもらった。そこでガーデンズと合流してライブしながら、そして思いついたメロディを書き留めながら北上したんだ。壁とソファの隙間に寝たり道の途中で牛の群れに阻まれたりとそれは色々あったよ。 それらをオリンピアで吐き出したというわけだ。 そこには路上でバスーンを吹きながらスタジオに寝泊まりしている乞食がいた。それがマクラウドだったんだ。
